The bottleneck nobody talks about
Every B2B marketing team has a backlog of demos they need but cannot get made. The sales deck references a walkthrough that does not exist yet. The product launch has a changelog entry but no interactive preview. The help center article explains a feature with three paragraphs of text when a 30-second guided click-through would do.
The reason these assets do not exist is not that they are hard to imagine. It is that producing them has historically required a brief, a storyboard, a designer, a video editor, and weeks of revision. By the time the demo goes live, the product has moved on and the content is already stale.
Capture, don't produce
The insight that changed our thinking: the best demo footage already exists inside your product. Every time someone clicks through a feature to show a colleague how it works, they are performing the demo. The problem is that nobody is capturing it.
When you start from a real product capture instead of a blank storyboard, you skip the entire production phase. The UI is accurate because it is the actual UI. The flow is realistic because someone just performed it. The only work left is adding guidance on top: tooltips that explain each step, narration that tells the story, and branding that makes it yours.
What speed unlocks
A demo that takes 10 minutes to create is not just a faster version of the same output. It changes what is worth making. At six weeks per demo, you get one generic product tour per quarter. At 10 minutes, you get a personalized walkthrough for every deal, a launch demo for every feature release, and an onboarding guide for every use case.
Our customers treat demos like documents, not productions. They create, iterate, and publish without waiting for a creative team or an agency cycle. When the UI updates, they re-record. When a prospect asks about a specific workflow, they create a new demo for that conversation.
The workflow
The process is three steps, all from one product capture:
- Record the flow. Open your product, click through the feature you want to show, and let the Chrome extension or desktop recorder capture every step.
- Let AI add the guidance. Saltfish Interactive Demos generate tooltip copy and voiceover narration from the capture automatically. Adjust the text, pick a voice, and translate it with AI.
- Publish anywhere. Send a trackable link, embed the demo on your website or help center, or drop it into a sales email. Every view, click, and replay shows up in your analytics.
That is the entire cycle. No staging environment, no design handoff, no engineering ticket. If you have a product and 10 minutes, you have a demo.
The same launch can also become a narrated, on-brand video for LinkedIn, YouTube and your website. Saltfish Video turns the release notes or launch post you already wrote into one, so the demo and the video go live the same week.
